A Chicago news station reported last week about a man pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges for luring three minors to engage in sexual activity and photographing them. He contacted them via Facebook.

We've raised warning signs before about social networking sites. Personally, we're big fans of Facebook but we recommend against using MySpace which saw thousands of predators rounded up last year.

That being said, parents need to be prepared and educate themselves about the pitfalls of Facebook. For this reason we've put together a "Parents' Guide to Facebook".

No, that's not a new game show. It's a fantastic new free application from Vision 20/20 (click here to open a new window with the app)

Essentially, the website is a Mash-up of Microsoft's very snazzy Live! Maps application together with a query of local sex offenders in the area. Here's a quick snapshot:
